In May 2026, Michael Anastassiades announced that he would close his eponymous lighting house to refocus on design full time. The Cypriot, London-based designer founded his studio in 1994 and launched the house in 2007 to produce his own lighting, furniture and objects.
His heritage collection now moves into the Flos catalogue. Piero Gandini, executive chairman and artistic supervisor of the Flos B&B Italia Group, called it the natural consequence of a collaboration that began more than ten years ago. That partnership has produced lamps such as the IC Lights and the Arrangements system.
Anastassiades is known for a language of brass, glass spheres and balance, with lamps built on precise geometry. His pieces are in the permanent collections of MoMA in New York and the V&A in London.
His name also appears in B&B Italia's 2026 collection, alongside Antonio Citterio, Vincent Van Duysen and Ronan Bouroullec.
