To mark its tenth anniversary in 2022, Gabriel Scott commissioned six designers and architects to reinterpret its most iconic product, the Welles Chandelier, first launched in 2017. The capsule collections were presented in Milan in June 2022 under the title Floating Ideas, at Spazio Big on Via Santa Marta during the Salone del Mobile.

The six were David Rockwell, Kelly Hoppen, Michelle Gerson, Alessandro Munge, Sybille de Margerie and Guan Lee. Each version stays true to the studio's principles of a versatile look, custom configuration and timeless form, in materials ranging from soft bronze and padded vegan leather to white clay and recycled fired clay.

David Rockwell's capsule takes the chandelier's geometry towards natural clusters such as crystals, chemical compounds and clouds. Hollowed glass polygons act as points of light that gather into a floating cluster, across chandeliers, pendants and sconces.

Launched in Montreal in 2012 by Scott Richler and Gabriel Kakon, Gabriel Scott makes every piece by hand in its Montreal studio, working with blown glass and metal.
